Description

For Corsica Sole, we are constructing seven asymmetrical photovoltaic greenhouses across multiple locations on Réunion Island. The structures have been designed and engineered to withstand the extreme wind loads and cyclonic conditions characteristic of the island.

These greenhouses demonstrate how agriculture and renewable energy production can successfully coexist.

Concept

The project involves the construction of asymmetrical photovoltaic greenhouses, in which the greenhouse structure is specifically adapted to integrate photovoltaic panels.

The north-facing roof slope is fully equipped with photovoltaic panels, while the south-facing roof is finished with transparent PVC sheets. This allows maximum natural daylight to enter the greenhouse, creating optimal growing conditions for the crops.

The asymmetrical roof design optimizes both energy generation and light transmission. The solar panels are installed on the roof slope with the highest solar exposure to maximize electricity production, while the transparent south-facing roof provides ideal conditions for crop cultivation.

A sustainable partnership

Our collaboration with Corsica Sole builds on a successful partnership established through previous projects completed in 2022 and 2023.

Our added value lies in:

  • comprehensive structural engineering and accurate design calculations;
  • developing well-considered technical solutions throughout the entire design process;
  • open and efficient collaboration between the teams of Corsica Sole, Climafor, and the local installation teams;
  • extensive experience in photovoltaic greenhouse construction under demanding climatic conditions.

This combination of technical expertise and close collaboration gave the client the confidence to entrust Climafor with this new project.

Our approach

We believe every successful project starts with thorough preparation and strong project management. We oversee every stage of the process, placing particular emphasis on efficient planning, logistical coordination, and seamless cooperation between all stakeholders.

  • rapid production start-up following technical approval;
  • logistical support for transporting the structures to Réunion Island;
  • close cooperation with local installation teams;
  • high-quality execution in accordance with applicable quality control and safety standards.

By working closely together, we're creating a sustainable greenhouse solution that is tailored to our client's needs and built to perform in the demanding conditions of Réunion Island.
