An early start in photovoltaic structures
Since the mid-2000s, we have been among the pioneers in photovoltaic structures. Especially in Italy and France, we have deployed our expertise to develop innovative photovoltaic greenhouses. Thanks to our customer-oriented approach, we design tailor-made projects together with our clients, efficiently combining solar panels with cultivation systems.
Our strength lies in co-creation: we have applied various roof layouts, module compositions, construction dimensions, and other technical solutions to the specific needs of each project. This customization, combined with our in-depth knowledge of greenhouse technology and photovoltaic systems, ensured we were early adopters in this newly developed market.
International growth and EPC execution
As early as 2007, we carried out our first EPC projects in Italy. Here, we took everything into our own hands—from the construction and panels to the cabling and transformer—to prove our expertise and reliability. This approach emphasized our inherent flexibility: clients determine the extent of our involvement in their project.
France proved to be a major growth market for photovoltaic greenhouses, where we frequently built structures for large solar energy developers who finished our constructions with their trusted electrical components.
Architectural ingenuity and solar energy
Around the same period in Belgium, several forward-thinking architects came up with the idea of integrating solar panels into architectural design. A pioneering example of this is the Euro Space Center in Libin along the E411, designed by Architect Philippe Samyn. This project, in which our flexibility and technical know-how were deployed, marked our entry into the world of architectural solar energy projects.
In the mid-2010s, the demand for building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) began to grow strongly. This was further accelerated with the launch of our brand Forzon at the time, through which we realized numerous innovative projects. These included "off-the-grid living in a greenhouse" structures.
Climafor: the beginning of a new era
Today, we are bundling these years of experience in photovoltaic projects under a new brand: Climafor. This brand focuses on investors in climate and energy, offering solutions such as photovoltaic greenhouses, truck ports and carports, spans, buildings, and complex structures. When it comes to BIPV and the architectural context prevails, we continue to provide our expertise under the Forzon brand.
